9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Departure of WTC steel for FDNY Marine Corps Association’s Memorial with motorcycle escort

A weekend of special events will surround the dedication of the FDNY Marine Corps Association’s memorial to the memory of the 17 FDNY firefighters who were also US Marines when they were killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
The dedication events will begin with a ceremony at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 6:30am. Immediately following the ceremony, at 7:30am, an “Iron & Steel Run” convoy escorting two pieces of World Trade Center steel will leave for Quantico.
The Memorial will be dedicated at the USMC National Museum in Quantico, Virginia on Sunday, October 5, 2014. A parade will bring the steel to the memorial at 10:00am, and the memorial will be dedicated at 10:30am. A reception will take place following the dedication ceremony in the Museum at noon.
All members of the FDNY are welcome to participate.
