Platelets needed for Colin Flood
January 24, 2014 - February 15, 2014
Colin Flood, who is 7, has been battling leukemia for the last two years. He is the son of Kevin Flood, a retired firefighter from Engine 210, who served with the FDNY during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
Colin was first diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia on December 24, 2012. He received chemotherapy and then underwent a bone marrow transfusion. He had been in remission until October 2013, when unfortunately the cancer returned. Colin has been undergoing chemo and spinal taps. He will need risky liver surgery soon.
For the next few weeks, Colin needs 1-2 transfusions daily. He badly needs platelets now!
Please donate platelets at Memorial Sloan Kettering Blood Center by calling 212-639-7643 to make an appointment or by visiting their website. Please say you want to donate for Colin Flood.
