9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Victim Compensation Fund forum for recovery workers, survivors & residents: Staten Island

Due to the fast-approaching October 3, 2013 deadline to apply, there will be an information forum to answer your questions & concerns about the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (“VCF”) at the Jewish Community Center in Staten Island on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. The doors will open at 5:00pm, and the meeting will take place between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Special Master Sheila Birnbaum will attend, along with local politicians.

This forum will be an opportunity to learn about the status of the VCF and to discuss the claim filing process. The target audience is those DDC employees, construction workers, crane operators, operating engineers, DSNY personnel, military responders, Parks Department officers, NYS Court officers, corrections officers, firefighters, police officers and others who worked on the pile and in the pit and those who worked, lived, and attended school in the exposure zone (or a personal representative of a deceased individual) who suffered physical harm or were killed as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 or the recovery effort that took place in the immediate aftermath of the attacks.
