Red Bandanna Day – Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust
July 14, 2013 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Rockland Boulders will host Red Bandanna Day in honour of World Trade Center hero Welles Remy Crowther on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Provident Bank Park in Pomona. The game begins at 5:00pm.
All tickets purchased via crowthertrust@aol.com for the game will benefit the Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust. The Trust will also be the beneficiary of the evening’s 50/50 drawing.
The Boulders are doing several charity events over the season — the one that raises the most money on their night will win the right to hold two fundraising events at the Stadium next season. So come out and help the Man in the Red Bandanna win.
In order to help the Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust, all tickets must be purchased through crowthertrust@aol.com. Tickets purchased any other way will not benefit the Trust.
Welles Remy Crowther, 24, is credited with saving 12 people, while losing his life on September 11, 2001 when Flight 175 struck Tower 2 of the World Trade Center. He left his office on the 104th floor, went to the Sky Lobby on the 78th floor (one of the impact floors) and assisted injured people down to safety. Welles is known by the nickname “the man in the red bandanna”.
