Prostate cancer support group New Hyde Park, NY
July 10, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The next Integrated Medical Foundation free prostate cancer support group meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 7:00pm. Meetings are held in New Hyde Park on the first Wednesday of every month at the address below. The meetings are moderated by an oncology social worker and provide an excellent opportunity for men (and their partners if desired) to share their experiences and to help them cope with treatment and diagnosis. There are also meetings in Melville.
Prostate cancer experts will speak at various meetings. All are welcome.
Prostate cancer is rampant among workers from the World Trade Center recovery. Studies have shown the rate of prostate cancer among recovery workers to be 15% higher than in those who were not there. Prostate cancer is not currently covered under the Zadroga law. There is hope of that changing.
