9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The annual SSG James McNaughton Tribute will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 1:00pm to 8:00pm at Mulcahy’s Pub & Music Hall in Wantagh, NY. The Empty Sky Walkathon will take place on Sunday, April 17, 2016, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Liberty State Park. Proceeds raised will go towards maintaining the 210-foot long brushed stainless steel walls that comprise the memorial. The Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial is New Jersey’s official memorial to the 749 people who were killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and who lived in or had ties to New Jersey. This year’s Oklahoma City Marathon, the Run to Remember, will be run on Sunday, April 24, 2016. Voted one of the 12 ‘must-run’ marathons in the world by Runner’s World magazine, the Run to Remember honors the 168 people murdered in the bombing of the Alfred Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995.
