9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The third annual two-mile Remember Me Run will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Queens on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 3:00pm. The run will be followed by a Memorial Service for the rescue and recovery workers who have died due to their work following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. The 14th annual Jeff Coombs Memorial Road Race, Walk and Family Day will take place at 9:00am on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Woodsdale School in Abington, MA. This year’s race will be dedicated to Sgt. Danny Vasselian, USMC, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on December 23, 2013. The NY Jets are hosting an appreciation event for police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 8:30pm. That night, the Jets will play the Chicago Bears. Fairfax County, Virginia has been named the host city for the 2015 World Police & Fire Games. The Games will bring more than 10,000 competitors to the area. Many of its 65 events will take place at Fairfax County venues such as George Mason University & Reston Town Center.
