The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund is approaching an important deadline. This deadline applies to individuals who were diagnosed with a 9/11-related eligible cancer other than prostate cancer on or before October 12, 2012 and who have not already registered or filed a VCF claim. Claimants diagnosed on or before October 12, 2012 with one of the cancers added to the list of eligible conditions on that date must register with the Fund by October 12, 2014*. Deadline to apply for Kikkoman Scholarships for family members of Pentagon, Flight 77 and Flight 93 attack victims
The Kikkoman Companies are offering $1,000.00 scholarships for the 2014-2015 academic year to spouses, children and stepchildren of those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the Pentagon, American Airlines Flight 77 and United Flight 93. $1,000.00 scholarships are also offered to those seriously injured in the Pentagon that day and to their children, spouses and stepchildren. New York State would like to ensure you preserve your right to workers’ compensation if you participated in the rescue, recovery and clean-up of the World Trade Center through September 12, 2002. File a WTC-12 form with the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board by 9/11/14. This preserves your right to future benefits, should you ever need them. Most people are eligible. In commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, hundreds of people tied white “Remember to Love” ribbons to the St. Paul’s Chapel fence in Lower Manhattan. The ribbons were inscribed with personal messages – to victims of the attacks or simply with hopes of a peaceful future.
