9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Spirit of America Blood Drive – Brooklyn, MI

On Thursday, September 11, 2014, from 6:00am to 6:00pm, Michigan International Speedway (MIS) and Michigan Blood will host the Spirit of America Blood Drive. The annual event pays tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 by collecting hundreds of lifesaving blood donations.
The Spirit of America blood drive began at MIS in 2002. Since then, it has collected more than 9,300 pints of blood with the potential to have saved nearly 28,000 lives.
All donors must have an appointment and bring photo ID. Appointments are limited, and must take place between 6:00am to 6:00pm. Appointments can be made online here or by calling 1-866-MIBLOOD (866-642-5663). New donors are welcome.
Donors with appointments will have the opportunity to travel around the racetrack by MIS tram, which will then take them to the pits. Donors may also tour the Home of the Brave exhibit. Donors will receive a complimentary lunch in the Champions Club. Spirit of America gift bags will be given to donors.
Any healthy person aged 17 or older (or 16 with parental consent) who weighs at least 110 pounds may make an appointment to donate. To learn more about blood donation eligibility, please click here.
