For the 11th year, the Patriots’ Run will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. The Kansas run begins at noon and continues until 9:11pm. Participants may register either solo or as part of a team and may run for the entire time or for a portion of it. Runners can design their own distance – a lap or two up to an ultra-marathon. Runners may also opt to run a certified marathon. The Patriots’ Run is the only event of this type in the world.
In Afghanistan, many members of our military run after their duties and under terrible conditions. They do not run on September 11th itself, because of the high risk of attack that day. In many of the past events the enemy has shelled the course.
In Olathe, the course is a one-mile loop at the Great Mall of the Great Plains. This flat course provides aid every mile. The Patriots’ Run is an event for runners of all ages and skill levels.
Please bring lawn chairs. Runners may bring family and friends to cheer them on. Music will be provided all day by BJ the DJ and live music from Last Chance Flight begins at 6:00pm.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Salvation Army of Olathe. Patriots’ Run Club is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization.
If you would like to volunteer, please contact Tim Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 913-339-6767.
