Opening Reception for the Exhibit Skywalkers: The Legacy of the Mohawk Ironworker at the World Trade Center

November 21, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Skywalkers: The Legacy of the Mohawk Ironworker at the World Trade Center is a new exhibit by artist Melissa Cacciola at the Staten Island Museum’s History Center at Snug Harbor. It will open with a reception and talk at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 21, 2015.

Mohawk ironworkers worked the recovery effort after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and worked and continue to work at the site on the construction of One World Trade Center, Towers 2, 3, and 4 and the Calatrava Transportation Hub.

Skywalkers is a collection of tintype portraits of and interviews with some of the Mohawk World Trade Center ironworkers from the Kahnawake reservation in Canada.

The exhibit can be seen from Saturday, November 21, 2015 to Monday, February 22, 2016. See the separate listing to learn details about the exhibit.

To reach the center from Manhattan, take the S40 bus 1.7 miles to Snug Harbor from the Staten Island Ferry.
