9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Nimham PowWow Benefitting the Tower of Hope

The 12th Annual Daniel Nimham Intertribal Pow Wow will take place on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Putnam County Veterans’ Memorial Park in Kent (Carmel), NY. The event is billed as a “Special Tribute to our Women Veterans”. Events are held from 10:00am to 6:00pm each day.

This event teaches Native American history, culture music and intertribal dances. Featured performers include the Native American drums of the Nimham Mountain Singers and Joseph Fire Crew. There will be story telling, tepees, birds of prey, arts and crafts and Native American food.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Tower of Hope and help fund their 100 Dogs in 1,000 Days program. TheTower ofHope raises money to train service dogs for wounded veterans in honour of Tom Sinton, a victim of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He worked for Cantor Fitzgerald.
