9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Ceremony and plaque dedication, Lackawanna County

Lackawanna County’s annual ceremony to remember the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 will be held at 8:00am on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the memorial site in McDade Park. The public is invited.

A new plaque honoring Gerard P. “Jerry” Moran will be installed during the ceremony. Moran, 39, served as a combat photographer for the Navy, then transferred to the Pentagon doing video teleconferencing as a Navy contractor. He was killed there during the terrorist attack.

A plaque honoring the seven members of the military from the area who have been killed in action will also be dedicated during the ceremony.

A plaque to resident of Lackawanna County Laura Lee Morabito, 34, who was a passenger on Flight 11, already has been installed.
