9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Candlelight Vigil @ FF Tegtmeier Memorial, Hyde Park, NY
September 11, 2013 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
A September 11th memorial service to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks will be held at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the FF Paul Tegtmeier Memorial Site, at Hackett Hill Park in Hyde Park.
Candles will be provided. The candlelight vigil will start at 7:00pm.
FF Tegtmeier gave his life responding to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. He was 41.
Participants are asked to participate in two food drives – “Food Fight for Vets” and “Claudio Cares.” Donations may be left in a firetruck that will be parked at the memorial before the ceremony, with the goal of filling the rig with donated food.
Food Fight for Vets, a project of the Marine Corps League of Dutchess County, helps to stock the Castle Point food pantry. Claudio Cares honors local resident Claudio Coppola, who was killed in a 2012 car accident.
