Boston Marathon Bombing Anniversary Ceremony

April 15, 2014 @ 2:45 pm - 4:00 pm

On Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 2:49pm, one year to the minute after the Boston Marathon bombing, an anniversary tribute to the victims, survivors and rescuers of the attack will be held at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center near the site of the bombing.

Attendance at the ceremony will be by invitation only. One Fund Boston and the Boston Athletic Association are the hosts of the event. After speeches from victims’ family members, police officers and medical personnel, the ceremony will conclude with a flag-raising at the finish line.

Several other events commemorating the attacks are planned for that week. This year’s running of the Boston Marathon (the 118th) will also commemorate the bombing. Thousands of this year’s runners are runners from last year who were unable to finish the race because of the bombs.
