9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The John Jay Center on Terrorism Friday seminar on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 3:00pm will feature Gary LaFree. His topic will be Black Swans and Burstiness: Countering Myths about Terrorism.The seminar will be held in New Building Room L2.84 of John Jay College.

La Free is currently Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and Director of the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) at the University of Maryland.  He is one of the authors of the 2014 book, Putting Terrorism in Context: Lessons from the Global Terrorism Database.
