Annapolis 9/11 Day of Service

September 13, 2014 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

To commemorate Marylanders who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County will hold a 9/11 Day of Service on Saturday, September 13, 2014.

The day will begin at 8:00am on Saturday, September 13, 2014 with sign-in. A September 11th commemoration ceremony will begin at 8:30am at the Maryland World War II Memorial. From 9:00am until noon, volunteers will participate in environmental service projects at the WWII Memorial and at nearby Jonas Green Park.

Preregistration is required. Register online here.

This event will be held rain or shine.

Tasks will include weeding, planting and mulching to control storm water runoff. Volunteers may also work with Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup recording items of debris they find, giving a clearer picture of how pollution impacts the health of Chesapeake Bay.
