Two of New York City’s Bravest died in the line of duty — thousands of miles from home

FDNY Lt. Christopher J. Raguso, 39, and FDNY Fire Marshal Christopher “Tripp” Zanetis, 37,  both of the 106th Rescue Wing of the New York Air National Guard, were killed in the line of duty on March 15, 2018 when their helicopter crashed in Iraq.

Lt. Raguso, married father of two small daughters, served the FDNY for 13 years. Fire Marshal Zanetis was a 10-year FDNY veteran, reports Alex Horton in the Washington Post.

Also killed in the crash were Staff Sgt. Dashan J. Briggs, 30; Staff Sgt. Carl P. Enis, 31; Master Sgt. William R. Posch, 36 ; Capt. Andreas B. O’Keeffe, 37;  and Capt. Mark K. Weber, 29.
