Street named for Firefighter Joseph O’Toole, who died of 9/11-related illness

Garrecht Place in West Nyack now has a second name — honoring FDNY Firefighter Joseph “Toolie” O’Toole, who died of World Trade Center-related cancer in December 2016.

A number of firefighters who lived in Rockland or Westchester Counties  have died of site-related cancers, and a plaque listing all their names is planned for installation at Town Hall, reports Jordan Fenster for the Rockland/Westchester Journal News.
