New York State Senate passes legislation to rename roadway in honor of Lt. Christopher J. Raguso

The New York State Senate has passed S8157A, legislation to rename a 7-mile section of Jericho Turnpike the Lt. Christopher J. Raguso FDNY-CFD Memorial Highway.

FDNY Lt. Christopher Raguso was killed in a helicopter crash in Iraq while serving as a Master Sergeant in the 106th Rescue Wing of the Air National Guard. He served 13 years with the FDNY in both L-113 and E-302.

The renamed section of the Turnpike will be located between St. Johnland Road in Smithtown to East Deer Park Road in Dix Hills. The official name of the roadway will remain on signage to prevent confusion.
