New Jersey bill to aid 9/11 first responders clears Assembly panel

New Jersey’s Assembly Homeland Security and State Preparedness Committee approved Bill A-4882, which would expand eligibility for disability allowances to include off-duty police and firefighters and retirees who voluntarily responded to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Those who were on-duty at the time of the attacks are already included, reports Insider New Jersey.

The bill will now go to the Assembly Speaker for further consideration.
