New 9/11 memorial in Ireland will be made out of Twin Towers steel

A memorial honoring those murdered in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 will be built next to the Waterford Crystal factory. It will feature steel from the World Trade Center, glass panels, and artwork, reports Freya Drohan for Irish Central

Nearly one-third of the 2,973 people killed in the attacks called themselves Irish Americans. Eighteen Irish citizens are known to have been killed on 9/11.
