Friends of Flight 93 open to a merger with the Families of Flight 93

The Friends of Flight 93 unanimously approved a merger with the Families of Flight 93, provided that the Families of Flight 93 agree.

The Families of Flight 93 are, as it sounds, family members of the 40 passengers and crew members killed in the terrorist attack on United Flight 93 on September 11, 2001. The Friends raise funds for the Flight 93 National Memorial, help its environment, and volunteer for tasks at the Memorial.

At the most recent meeting of Friends of Flight 93, a presentation by Andrea Kautz of the Powdermill Nature Reserve about the flowers, birds, and bees at the Memorial.

Friends also learned that eight of the the Tower of Voices chimes are malfunctioning, but that the project is on track to have all 40 chimes installed this month, reports Dylan Johnson for the Daily American.
