Florida Chick Fil A honors Deputy Gregg Melita, who lost battle to cancer

A Chick Fil A in Bradenton, FL has a table honoring Manatee County Sheriff Deputy Gregg Melita, who died earlier this month of cancer that may have been World Trade Center-related.

Before his 10-year career with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Melita had a 20-year New York Police Department career, reports Marla Spence for WWSB Sarasota.

Melita worked at a local elementary school, and was a much-loved town figure.
