Flight 93 Tower of Voices to be built by Altoona contractor

A contractor has been chosen to build the 93-foot tall windchime tower, the Tower of Voices, reports the Tribune-Review. The firm of Leonard S. Fiore Inc. was awarded the contact.

The Tower of Voices is the last part of the Flight 93 National Memorial to be built. The tower will contain 40 windchimes, one for each  of the innocent voices aboard United Flight 93 silenced by terrorists on September 11, 2001.

Construction began last month, and will continue as long as weather permits. The Tower of Voices will be dedicated in September 2018.
