A group of FDNY firefighters from Engine 48/Ladder 56 planted flowers, cleaned gutters and windows, and powerwashed the house of Lieutenant Joe Stach, who has site-related pancreatic cancer. The flowers were purple, the color of the pancreatic cancer awareness campaign, report Edgar Sandoval and Denis Slattery of the New York Daily News.
