9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Rename a section of Washington State highway to honor those killed on 9/11 – suggestions accepted

January 22 @ 8:00 am - January 30 @ 5:00 pm

Highway 532 between 72nd Avenue and Pioneer Highway in Washington State  will be renamed in honor of those people killed in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The Stanwood City Council is currently accepting suggestions for the new name. Suggestions can be submitted to kcasey@northcountyfireems.com before January 30, 2021. Submitted names will be voted on by a committee and the State Transportation Commission will official rename the road.

“In the Bleak Midwinter”, an online candle-lighting event to honor loved ones who have died

Funeral for Nassau County Detective Erick Contreras

Detective Erick Contreras of the Nassau County Police has died of cancer. He joined the Nassau Police in 1994.  He worked at the site of the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks on 9/11. His viewing will take place from 9:00am to 10:30am on Saturday, February 23, 2021 at the First Baptist Cathedral of Westbury with a police service following from 10:30am to 11:00am, and his funeral from 11:00am to 12:30pm. James A. Greenleaf, Jr. Memorial 5-K River Run
