9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for retired FDNY FF George J. Tripptree, L-173

Retired FDNY Firefighter George J. Tripptree, 70, died of World Trade Center-related illness on September 23, 2022. He spent much of his career with Ladder 173. His brother is an active-duty FDNY Battalion Chief.
His wake will be held at Towers Funeral Home in Oceanside, NY from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and from 7:00pm until 9:00pm on Monday, September 26, 2022.
His Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 10:45am at St. Christopher’s Church in Baldwin, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the Tripptree family requests that donations be made to the Ray Pfeifer Foundation.
