Lung cancer awareness radio show/podcast

November 5, 2013 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

November is lung cancer awareness month, so this week’s Frankly Speaking about Cancer broadcast  on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 4:00pm will focus on living with lung cancer.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the U.S., largely due to the fact that most cases are not diagnosed until the cancer is advanced.

80% of those diagnosed with lung cancer do not smoke, and of course, a growing number of those with lung cancer can attribute their disease to their work on the pile at the World Trade Center site.

Speaking on the Cancer Support Community podcast will be Amy Copeland, the associate director of medical outreach at Lung Cancer Alliance, and Jenny White, a lung cancer survivor who serves as director of LCA’s Tennessee chapter.
