Not only did Detective McDonald forgive the teenage gunman\, who tried to kill him; he befriended him. Steven McDonald was an inspiration to the NYPD – and to the people of NYC – for the rest of his life. In his wheelchair\, he led the Father Mychal Judge walk annually to remember his friend.
