An American CEO who survived 9/11 died in the terror attack on a Kenya hotel

Jason Spindler worked in 7 World Trade Center and was late to work on September 11, 2001, arriving at the complex as the first tower collapsed.

Though he survived one terrorist attack, he was killed in the Nairobi terrorist attack on January 15, 2019, the only American to die in that incident, report Jason Hanna, Joe Sutton, and Emanuella Grinberg for CNN. Twenty-one people were killed at the DusitD2 shopping complex in Nairobi.

His 41st birthday is next week.

Mr. Spindler was the founder and CEO of I-DEV International, a company that advises companies doing business in emerging markets.
