‘Sesame Street’ characters launch resource portal to show kids how to deal with trauma

The beloved kids’ show Sesame Street is introducing a “Traumatic Experiences” segment to their website to teach kids coping skills when dealing with tragedy, writes Constance Gibbs in the New York Daily News.

Characters from the show appear in videos to offer advice and support to children aged 6 and under in English and Spanish. The coping strategies are meant for children to do with their parents or caregivers.

Studies show that 25% of children will suffer a trauma before age 18.
