Rylie Golgart wants to be known as a survivor, not a victim

Eighteen-year-old Rylie Golgart wants to be known as a survivor, not a victim. She was shot in the back at the Las Vegas Route 91 Harvest Festival, one of the youngest people wounded there, reports Shakala Alvaranga in Las Vegas Now. Rylie is now receiving treatment at a spinal institute in Colorado.

The Terry Farrell Firefighters’ Fund organized a benefit to raise funds for Rylie, who is the daughter of a police officer and the stepdaughter of a firefighter. The Farrell Fund, named for a firefighter killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, helps firefighters in many ways.
