NYPD Shield aided police departments nationwide to partner with businesses to combat terror

The NYPD has been working with other police forces across the country to teach them to partner with businesses to prevent terrorist attacks, reports Rocco Parascandola in the New York Daily News.

NYPD Shield is a program formed after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The program creates a method by which police could regularly communicate with security officials at shopping malls, sports arenas, office buildings and other public places.

The NYPD counts it a duty to assist other police departments with their expertise.
