New Paltz memorial for September 11 moving forward

Organizers of a September 11 memorial to be built in New Paltz are nearing their financial goal needed to complete it. The memorial will be a small memorial park at the corner of North Putt Corners Road and Henry Dubois Drive, reported William J. Kemble in the Daily Freeman. The park contains a 30-foot “Tree of Remembrance”.

Approximately $14,000 has been raised of the $15,000-$20,000 needed.

The memorial park should be completed by September 11, 2016, the fifteenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
