Milton man vandalized 9/11 artifact at Pensacola’s Veterans Memorial Park, police say

A Florida man twice vandalized the new Global War on Terror’s 9/11 piece of steel during a week-long Memorial Day ceremony reports the Pensacola News Journal. He returned days later and was seen again damaging the steel on both May 23 and and May 26.

Robert Link, 55, was arrested and charged with felony criminal mischief for each of the the two acts of vandalism. He hung on the piece of steel and bent it with his weight.

The steel, which was part of a World Trade Center floor truss, has been repaired.
