Former Con Ed worker claims 9/11-related illness caused wrongful termination, suit alleges

Peter Wolfinger, 45, a former Con Edison mechanic who worked in Lower Manhattan beginning September 12, 2001, has filed suit against the power company after he was fired for taking sick days, reports Andrew Keshner of the New York Daily News.

Wolfinger’s suit alleges that his now-chronic bronchitis stems from his work downtown.He also suffered a heart attack at the age of 38. He took roughly 36 sick days from Con Edison from 2001 until his firing in May 2016.
