FDNY sons honor their lost fathers as they carry on heroic legacy

Thomas Palombo, 24, and Harry Ford Jr., 27, both joined the FDNY this week. Each man lost his firefighter father months apart from one another. James Sullivan, 25, is also becoming a firefighter in this class to honor his father.

Frank Palombo, the father of 10, was killed responding to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. The summer before the attacks, on Father’s Day, Harry Ford was killed in the line of duty in a hardware store fire that killed three fathers. Lawrence Sullivan died in 2012 from World-Trade-Center-related intestinal cancer writes Ryan Sit in the New York Daily News.
