Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The annual Alicia Titus Memorial Run for Peace will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016. The 5-K run and 1-mile walk will begin at 9:00am at the Urbana University Student Center. Participants will proceed through Monument Square and Freedom Grove before the run/walk ends at the student center. The fifteenth annual Arlington Police, Fire & Sheriff 9/11 Memorial 5-K will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2016. The run begins at 6:00pm, and will be held rain or shine. The Spirit of America blood drive will return to Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan for the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. Since its inception in 2002, the Spirit of America blood drive has collected more than 10,194 blood products, potentially helping save more than 30,438 lives. Those who attempt to donate blood will have the opportunity to ride the MIS tram around the track, to the Home of the Brave exhibit.
