9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The annual JR’s Angels bowling night fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at Brunswick Zone Turnersville. Check-in will begin at 5:00pm. A donation of $20.00 per person includes three hours of bowling and rental shoes. There will also be basket raffles a 50/50 and fun for a great cause. 100% of the proceeds will benefit various charities in the community JR loved. Fairfax County, Virginia has been named the host city for the 2015 World Police & Fire Games. The Games will bring more than 10,000 competitors to the area. Many of its 65 events will take place at Fairfax County venues such as George Mason University & Reston Town Center. The deadline for members of the NYPD to file a Notice of Participation with the Police Pension Fund has been extended to September 11, 2015. Active and retired NYPD officers who participated in the rescue, recovery and clean-up efforts but did not file the notice before the original 2010 deadline will now be able to do so in order to protect their presumptive eligibility for accident disability pension benefits.
