Christian M. Cottingham, who served as a paramedic at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 and the next day at the World Trade Center, died on Friday, July 24, 2015, at the age of 43. Cottingham joined the US Army as a medic. He served as a medic during Operation Desert Storm with a Patriot Missile unit in Bahrain. FDNY Captain John Gallagher has died after a long battle with World Trade Center-related pulmonary fibrosis. He was 70, and a 34-year FDNY veteran. Captain Gallagher responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center with two of his sons (1 FDNY, 1 NYPD) and worked the recovery effort.
