Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The public is invited to attend the dedication ceremony for the Chatham County First Responders’ Memorial on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 3:00pm in Pittsboro, North Carolina. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs if they would like to. World Trade Center survivor Joseph Dittmar will speak. The Wake & District Pipe Band will play. The 13th annual Arlington Police, Fire & Sheriff 9/11 Memorial Race will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 6:00pm at the Crystal City Doubletree Hotel in Arlington (the race begins and ends at the DoubleTree Hotel). The annual Father Mychal Judge Walk of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014. The event begins with a 9:00 recital of the Rosary and a 9:30am Mass at Judge’s church, St. Francis of Assisi. When Mass is over, the walk begins from the quarters of Father Mychal’s firehouse, Engine 1/Ladder 24, across the street from the church.
