Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Every year volunteers join NYC Audubon to monitor the Tribute in Light memorial for migratory birds that may get disoriented by the light beams. Volunteers take two-hour shifts (there are at least 2 people per shift) from 8:00pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 to 6:00am on Monday, September 12, 2016. This year’s Father Mychal Judge Walk of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2016. As always, the event will begin with the saying of the Rosary at 8:45am downstairs at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, followed by Mass. The walk itself will begin at 10:15am outside the church.
