9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace will hold a free residential weekend on Friday, October 24, 2014 through Sunday, October 26, 2014 to bring together people affected by conflicts and acts of terrorism. On Friday, October 24, 2014 at 7:00pm a fundraiser will be held for FDNY Lieutenant Tom Bohn, who was severely injured in a motorcycle accident on Medal Day 2014. Lt. Bohn was hospitalized for several months for his injuries and will require extensive rehabilitation. The fundraiser will be held at The Main Event in Farmingdale. On Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 9:00am, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will host a stair climb honoring the 343 FDNY firefighters killed at the World Trade Center during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and the 89 FDNY members (thus far) who have been killed from 9/11 related illnesses. This year’s Red Bandanna Run will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2014 on the campus of Boston College. The Red Bandanna Run honors Welles Remy Crowther, who has earned the nickname “the man in the red bandanna”.
