There will be a fundraiser at Mulcahy’s Wantagh on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 7:00pm to raise money for Purple Heart Pups, an initiative of the Merrick Lions Club to provide service dogs for wounded veterans.
The cost is $55.00/ticket in advance or $65.00 at the door. The fee includes music, a dinner buffet and an open bar. The local band Mystic will provide the entertainment.

The seventh annual Captain Paddy Brown Memorial Fundraiser, which was set for November 3, 2012, was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. The foundation has run clothing drives for hurricane relief.

The Building for America’s Bravest Program is hosting a Lt. Dan Band Concert to build “smart” homes for Corporal Todd Love, USMC, and SFC Michael Schlitz, US Army, will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 7:00pm at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Corporal Love lost both legs and his arm in Afghanistan on October 25, 2010. Read more about him here.
SFC Michael Schlitz of the US Army was burned over 85% of his body, lost his right hand and several fingers on his left hand, has some vision loss and has limited range of motion. He was injured near Baghdad in 2007. For more of his story, please click here.
The Building for America’s Bravest Program is a partnership between the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Your help is needed to build these two brave Georgia veterans “smart homes”.

On Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 10:00am in honor of Veteran’s Day, the Tower of Hope and ShopRite will host the third annual Walk for Wounded Veterans at Tibbett’s Brook Park in Yonkers, NY.

The Tower of Hope raises money to train service dogs for wounded veterans in honour of Tom Sinton, a victim of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He worked for Cantor Fitzgerald in Tower 1.

Come to LaGuardia Airport for a 5-K race run on the runway and taxiways of one of NYC’s major airports. This event will be held rain or shine. Meet at Hangar 7 of LaGuardia Airport (subject to airport security).
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
