Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Eat pizza & raise money for the Tower of Hope

Raise some dough for the Tower of Hope.

On Saturday, May 18, 2013, eat pizza at UNO’s in Yonkers and their Dough Raiser campaign will donate up to 20% of your check to the Tower of Hope. Dine-in or take-out!

The Tower of Hope is a charity that raises funds to train service dogs for the disabled — especially for wounded veterans. It honors Tom Sinton, who was murdered by terrorists at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Save the date for the 2013 Warrior Games

The 2013 Warrior Games for wounded warriors will take place May 11 – 17, 2013 in Colorado Springs. Details will be available soon.

More than 200 wounded, ill and injured Service Members and Veterans are expected to participate in the games. The competition will feature the following teams from the United States – Army, Marine Corps, Navy/Coast Guard, Air Force, and Special Operations – along with an international team from the United Kingdom.

Athletes will compete in sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, swimming, cycling, track & field, archery & competitive shooting.

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the athletes or team members who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each event. The service with the most medals will receive the Chairman’s Cup.

Concert to benefit wounded warrior Sergeant Mike Nicholson

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Gary Sinise Foundation invite all of  Tampa to assist them in raising money to build triple amputee USMC Sergeant Mike Nicholson a “smart home” in Tampa. On July 6, 2011 Michael was on combat foot patrol in Afghanistan when he was injured by an IED, resulting in him losing both of his legs and his left arm. He also sustained a traumatic brain injury in the explosion.

Proceeds from the May 10, 2013 Lt. Dan Band Benefit Concert at Curtis Hixon Park will go towards Mike’s home.

Concert – 7:00pm;  gates open at 6:00pm.

Got Heart, Give Hope Gala benefitting Hope for the Warriors

This year’s Got Heart, Give Hope Gala will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 6:30pm at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC. The evening’s hosts will be September 11th family member and retired FDNY captain John Vigiano, Sr. and Gary Sinise.

Battle of the Badges 2012

Due to Hurricane Sandy, the Battle of the Badges, originally scheduled for Friday, November 9, 2012, will now be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 8:00pm at Madison Square Garden, the FDNY Bravest Boxing and the NYPD Fighting Finest will fight in the 30th annual Battle of the Badges.

As in years past, the Bravest boxing team will be donating proceeds to a wounded veteran. This year they will assist US Marine Corporal Greg Caron, who lost both legs after stepping on an IED. The funds will be used to build a home for Corporal Caron to fit his new needs.

Tickets are $30.00, $50.00, and $65.00 for VIP ringside seats. Golf “Fore” America’s Bravest with the FF Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation

Help the FF Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation”s Building for America’s Bravest build “smart” homes for triple and quadruple amputees from the war. On Monday, November 12, 2012, Golf ”Fore” America’s Bravest will host four simultaneous golf tournaments, each with an 11:00am cannon start.

You can golf at 4 different courses – Latourette, RCCC and Silver Lake Golf Club on Staten Island, and Dyker Beach Golf Club in Brooklyn. Golf at RCCC will be decided by lottery. Dinner will be held after golf at Nicotra’s Ballroom on Staten Island. Free buses will take golfers in Brooklyn to the dinner.

The fee for golf and dinner is $175.00. The fee for dinner only is $75.00. Sponsorships are available.
