9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The Marion Virginia September 11th Memorial program is set for Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 7:30pm at the Marion Fire Department. Twin lights are being dedicated as part of the 9/11 memorial. The vertical lights are meant to represent the World Trade Center’s towers. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place inside the Fire Department hall. A 20-foot-long, 8-foot-high mural dedicated to the fallen firefighters and police officers of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 will be rededicated at 9:00am on Thursday, September 11, 2014, the 13th anniversary of the attacks.
