A fundraiser to build a memorial plaque for Scanton resident Gerard P. Moran will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 6:00pm-10:00pm at the Polish Club in Scranton. Moran was murdered in the terrorist attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. He is one of 5 Pentagon victims whose remains were never found.
Jerry Moran grew up in North Scranton and graduated from from Scranton Technical High School. He was working in the Pentagon as a videographer under contract to the Navy on the day of the attacks. He had also been a Naval combat photographer for several years.
Family and childhood friends of Mr. Moran are planning to raise $4,000 to put a black granite memorial plaque honoring their friend in Providence Square.
Tickets to the event will be $10.00, which includes food and beverages.

A comedy fundraiser for Northern Kentucky 9/11 Memorial will be held at 8:00pm Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Radisson Hotel in Covington. Doors will open at 7:00pm.
Radio Hall of Famer Gary Burbank, Mike Armstrong, Loraine Braun, Dave Hyden and Rob Wilfong will provide two hours of laughs for those age 16 and older.
The evening’s events will also include a cash bar, raffles, and a 50/50.
Tickets are available in advance for $20.00 apiece at the Crescent Springs City Building. The cost to buy tickets at the door will be $25.00.
The piece of I-beam from the World Trade Center that will form the heart of the Northern Kentucky 9/11 Memorial will be on display during the evening. The Memorial will be built next to the Veterans’ Memorial in Crescent Springs City Park, at the intersection of Collins Road and Buttermilk Pike.

There will be a screening of the documentary Heroes behind the Badge on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 7:30pm at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn. The doors will open at 6:30pm.
Tickets are $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under 12 years old. All proceeds go to the Metro NY branch of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) and the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund. Tickets can be purchased here.

From April 1, 2013-April 18, 2013, the entry fee is $40.00 for adults and $25.00 for children ages 13 to 16. There is no fee for children ages 12 and under, but they must be registered.
100% of proceeds raised will support the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

Retired Pittsburgh air traffic controller Mal Fuller will present “My 9/11 Journey: Tragedy, Grief and Hope-United Flight 93” on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 7:30pm in Mansfield University’s Straughn Hall.
The talk is free and open to the public.
Fuller was an air traffic control supervisor at Pittsburgh International Airport on September 11, 2001. He will discuss his experiences to help raise money for the Flight 93 National Memorial. Fuller is donating his speaker’s fee to the Flight 93 National Memorial and donations to the memorial fund will be accepted. Please make your check payable to “Flight 93 National Memorial”.

This decal shows the future USS Arlington, which will be commissioned in 2013.
The USS Arlington Commissioning Committee will host a fundraiser for the future USS Arlington at the Army Navy Country Club on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 5:30pm.
A contribution of at least $250.00 will admit two people.The committee has joined with Navy League of Hampton Roads to raise $500,000 for the USS Arlington, which is slated to be commissioned in April 2013 in Norfolk, Virginia.
The funds raised at the dinner will create the commissioning ceremony, assist the ship’s crew and build the special tribute room aboard the ship that will honour those victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks killed on Flight 77 and in the Pentagon.
