9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. On Friday, August 14, 2015, the Kennedy Space Center’s Fire Station 1 will install a one-ton beam from the World Trade Center in front of their firehouse as a memorial to the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. KSC Fire Rescue’s current 9/11 memorial is a plaque, a pair of concrete replicas of the Twin Towers and a flagpole. The beam will lie across the concrete replicas. The Police Unity Tour will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. The arrival ceremony will begin at 2:00pm at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. The Northern Kentucky 9/11 Memorial Committee will host “Stand up for 9/11”, an evening of comedy benefiting the construction of the Northern Kentucky 9/11 Memorial on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 8:00pm to 10:00pm.
