9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Slots are available for the second annual National Fallen Firefighters 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Springfield, Missouri. The event is a commemorative stair climb to honor the 343 members of the Fire Department of New York who were killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Check-in begins at 7:30am. The 2014 FDIC September 11th Memorial Stair Climb will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Registration is now open. The cost to register is $25.00. Proceeds will benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), which assists the families of fallen firefighters. On the evening of Thursday, April 3, 2014, run or walk to the 72nd floor of 4 World Trade Center to raise funds for the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. 1,000 stair climbers are wanted to raise $100,000 to fight cancer.
