9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. A fundraiser to support the Honor Elizabeth Wainio ’95 Memorial Communications Scholarship will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at Ropewalk Tavern in Baltimore. Lizz Wainio, an alumna of Towson University, was a passenger aboard United Flight 93 during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. She was 27. The 32nd annual dinner dance of the FDNY Viking Association will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Staaten in Staten Island. Admission is $85.00 per person. The Olsen/Barry Memorial Scholarship will be presented during the evening. The Swim for the Future swim meet and scholarship presentation will take place at 5:30pm on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the AquaCenter on the Upper East Side. Doors will open at 5:30pm; the scholarship presentation will be held at 6:00pm; the swim meet runs from 6:20pm to 8:30pm. The meet is open to competent swimmers who will compete in four individual events (50 yards each in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle), as well as one medley relay.
