9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. There will be a Purple Ribbon 5-K Run/Walk and ½ Mile Fun Run on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 8:00am to raise money to fight pancreatic cancer. Details and registration forms can be found here. All funds raised will benefit the Lustgarten Foundation. Many recovery workers from the World Trade Center recovery operation now suffer from pancreatic and other cancers. The Martin W. Richard Charitable Foundation, which honors the 8-year-old boy murdered in the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, is looking for runners to run the New York City Marathon with their Team MR8. Martin Richard was the youngest victim of the 2013 attack. The 102-member team named for him raised more than a million dollars for the Foundation at this year’s Boston Marathon. The 11th annual G.R.A.C.E. 9/11 Tribute Run will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 9:00am in Glen Rock’s Veterans’ Park. There will be both 2-K and 5-K events, and a free one-mile walk. G.R.A.C.E. was established shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 to provide assistance to family members of those murdered. This year’s Captain Martin J. Egan 5-K Memorial Run will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 10:00am. Please gather at the Midland Beach picnic area on Midland Beach, Staten Island.
