9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Early registration for the second annual 9/11 Memorial 5-K Run/Walk and Family Day is open now. The event will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014. All funds raised from the Run/Walk will directly support the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. The 5-K route will take participants through the streets the rescue and recovery workers used when entering and leaving the site of the former World Trade Center. RUNNERS HAVE BEEN FOUND – THANK YOU! The Ace Bailey Children’s Foundation has just been offered two bib numbers to run in the 2014 Boston Marathon. The runners will be required to raise $5,000 for the Ace Bailey Children’s Foundation. Either the Foundation gets two runners today, Wednesday, January 29, 2014, or they will lose the numbers. The annual Amy King 5-K will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00am at the Lakewood Community Center in Lakewood, NY. The free Kids’ Race, for children 3-10, will begin at 11:30am. (Distances for the Kids’ Race will be determined by age.) Registration will be held from 9:00am to 10:30am at the Community Center. The entry fee is $25.00. Conshohocken’s September 11th Memorial Committee will hold a 5-K race as part of its ongoing effort to raise $75,000 for the construction of a September 11th Memorial Monument at Washington Fire Company No. 1. The race will begin at Matsonford Bridge at 10:00am and conclude at Washington Fire Company. The ninth annual Red Bandanna Run will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 on the Boston College campus. The Red Bandanna Run honors Welles Remy Crowther, “the man in the red bandanna” – a broker from Sandler O’Neill who saved many lives on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center.
