9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. This year’s G.R.A.C.E. Tribute Run will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 8:30am in Glen Rock’s Veterans’ Park. There will be both 2-K Junior and 5-K events this year. G.R.A.C.E. (Glen Rock Assistance Council & Endowment) was established shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 to provide assistance to family members of those murdered in the attacks. The 14th annual Deputy Chief Ray Downey Forever Running Memorial 5-K Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2015. The 5-K run/walk will begin at 9:30am and the Kids’ Fun Run will begin at 9:00am. The American Cancer Society will hold a Relay for Life event at the South Street Seaport from Friday, May 15, 2015 at 5:00pm to Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 5:00am. Cancer is ravaging the September 11th community – many rescue and recovery workers are sick with cancer from their work at the World Trade Center after the 9/11 attacks.
