9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Celebrate EMS Week this week by running in the 2016 EMS Appreciation Week Virtual 5-K or 10-K organized by the Virtual Running Club, which supports the National EMS Memorial Foundation. The Brooke Jackman Foundation’s 11th annual Race for Literacy will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in Oyster Bay, New York. This is a family event, with fun activities for all ages. The Brian Moore Memorial Foundation Walk will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 in Belmont Park. The walk will begin at 10:00am at the Marquee Tent near the Clubhouse entrance of Belmont Park and end 3.4 miles away on Det. Brian Moore Way in Cambria Heights. The annual Mark Ellis Memorial Walk will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Farmingdale State College’s Campus Center. Registration begins at 9:00am and the walk will begin at 10:00am. The Empty Sky Walkathon will take place on Sunday, April 17, 2016, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Liberty State Park. Registration begins at 8:30am. Proceeds raised will go towards maintaining the 210-foot long brushed stainless steel walls that comprise the memorial. The Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial is New Jersey’s official memorial to the 749 people who were killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and who lived in or had ties to New Jersey.
