9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The sixth annual Friends of Peter Alderman Walk will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00am beginning in the lower parking lot of Scarsdale Village Hall. The walk will continue for 1.4 miles to Fox Meadow Elementary School, where, after the Walk, a BBQ lunch will be served and there will be carnival booths, field games, face painting and more. The 7th annual Francis J. Feely Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Lochmor Golf Course in Loch Sheldrake, NY. Registration and breakfast will begin at 7:00am, with a shotgun start at 8:00am. Lunch will begin after golf at approximately 1:30pm. On Saturday, September 13, 2014, runners will meet in Fort Hamilton-Cannon Ball Park to run a 6-kilometer race in memory of those service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Each participant will be permitted to write the name of a fallen service member of their choice on his or her runner’s bib. Check-in begins at 7:00am and will be held on the park grounds. If you are a member of the September 11th community who is interested in gathering for lunch after the official ceremony, there will be such a gathering from 1:30pm to 3:30pm on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Beekman Restaurant in lower Manhattan. At 12:00pm on Thursday, September 11, 2014, the World Trade Center Survivors’ Network will gather at the Survivor Trees in the Living Memorial Grove (the large traffic island across from City Hall near the entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge). The ceremony there will last until approximately 1:00pm. The group will then have a quiet lunch together in a nearby restaurant. On Thursday, September 11, 2014, from 6:00am to 6:00pm, Michigan International Speedway (MIS) and Michigan Blood will host the Spirit of America Blood Drive. The annual event pays tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 by collecting hundreds of lifesaving blood donations.
